Stocks Rise Overseas, Futures Look to Extend Rally

Stocks continued to move up overseas. Japan’s Nikkei 225 stock average rose 134.87 points, or 1.8 %, to 7,704.15 as the Bank of Japan is considering buying subordinated debt from banks to shore up capital, boosting financials. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng climbed 450.91, or about 3.6 %, at 12,976.71. In Europe, Britain’s FTSE 100 gained 2.25 % to 3,838.06
